Beautiful antique American Waltham mechanical wristwatch, powered by a Waltham movement serial 14,209,626, dating the movement to approximately 1905.
This unusual piece features a hinged hunter-style protective cover, a remarkably clean white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, gold star hour markers and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock. The enamel dial presents exceptionally well for its age with no visible cracks or hairlines.
The hand-wound Waltham movement is beautifully decorated and is currently running very well. The watch is housed in a Crescent Watch Case Co. gold-filled case, marked “Warranted Crescent 25 Years.”
It is paired with an elaborate period-style multi-row bracelet featuring textured links and a clasp clearly stamped “12K GF” for 12-karat gold filled.
Given the early movement and unusual wristwatch configuration, this may represent a later wrist conversion of an earlier Waltham movement, so no claim is made that the complete wristwatch was originally assembled by Waltham in 1905.
